- Trip duration is 4–10 hours based on real-world distance from your home base
- Your pet returns with a souvenir from their destination

Pocket Journey is a cozy pet travel game built around collecting, planning, and gentle progress. Use this guide to make the most of every trip.
Currency
Getting Cans
Cans are the main currency. Here are all the ways to earn them:
- Tap the 🎁 icon in the Zen Room once a day for 2 free cans
- Watch an ad to earn 2 free cans
- NPCs visiting your Zen Room reward 2 cans each — tap them before the trip ends!
- Complete location collections to earn bonus cans
- Cans are used to buy food (3–4 cans), gear (4 cans), and charms (8–15 cans)
Food & Luring
- Everyday Kibble (3 cans): random global destination
- Continental foods (4 cans): steer your pet toward that continent
- Asian Bento, European Pastry, South American Feast, and more
Gear
- Equip gear to boost specific location types: beach, mountain, city, cold, historical
- Gear gives 3× weight to matching destinations
- Each piece costs 4 cans
Charms
- ⚡ Speed Charm (8 cans): reduces trip time by 20%
- 🎫 Premium Ticket (10 cans): makes premium/rare locations 5× more likely
- 🧭 Golden Compass (15 cans): guarantees a completely new, undiscovered location
- All three charms can be bought directly from the Shop, or earned by forging souvenirs
Souvenirs & Buffs
- Each destination has a unique souvenir your pet brings back
- Place up to 3 souvenirs in your Zen Room to activate Speed or Luck buffs
- Speed buffs reduce trip time; Luck buffs improve forging rewards and location quality
- Forge two souvenirs together to craft charms and premium tickets
Zen Room
- Decorate with souvenirs to activate passive buffs
- NPCs visit during active trips when a matching souvenir is displayed
- Tap an NPC during their visit to claim 2 cans
Quick tip
The best loop: check in daily for free cans → send a trip with Continental food + Gear + Charm → forge returning souvenirs or buy charms from the Shop → place buffs in your Zen Room → repeat. NPCs will visit while your pet is away, so don't forget to tap them for extra cans.
